Our photographic work is creative, original and acclaimed. Every shoot is customized to our clients’ needs. We work with you ahead of time to plan your shoot to meet your specific needs.

We use state-of-the-art editing techniques to take our imagery to a higher level that is more artistic, polished and unique. We are also adept at a range of special effects — including specialized editing software and studio effects, such as green screen —  to create dramatic, fine art composites and other compelling imagery to capture the viewer’s eye and imagination. We work in the studio and on location to capture e-commerce and lifestyle fashion imagery.

We deliver your imagery optimized for a range of needs, including formats/resolution for your website, social media, or for printed materials. We provide full-resolution edited images to our clients.

Your privacy and security is one of our top priorities. We work exclusively on encrypted computer systems and take every step to ensure your privacy, security and confidentiality.

E-Commerce Fashion Photography: In-Studio

Our principal studio on Capitol Hill is modern and versatile, offering state-of-the-art equipment and providing a range of set, lighting and special effects (including green screen) options for fashion photography. We have a professional steamer, lint-remover, clamps and other equipment on-hand to keep your wardrobe its crisp and clean best. Our team optionally includes professional models, makeup artists, stylists and producers. While it is always ideal to work directly with a representative of the apparel company on-hand, much of our work has been conducted independently. Imagery includes primarily full-body and three-quarter shots from various angles but also includes close-ups to feature certain aspects of the apparel as needed. While most e-commerce lighting is bright and relatively flat lighting, we often use creative, angular lighting, colorful lighting and/or backdrops and other creative set features to provide alternative imagery that capture the brand’s spirit and to help tell your story. Post-production includes cutting out and transposing imagery onto a standard light gray background, meticulous color correction to match color swatches, and delivery in formats optimized for print, web, social media or as otherwise requested by the client.

E-Commerce Fashion Photography: On Location

For location shoots we conduct a thorough scouting process and set up locations and shots in advance for efficiency, especially to preserve precious early morning or early evening ambient light. We obtain all necessary permits for outdoor shoots in public areas from local authorities weeks in advance. We use state-of-the-art portable remote-control flash equipment, reflectors and other light modifiers. We use pop-up changing booths as needed and maintain styling equipment in the field. We have shot on city streets, in abandoned buildings, in vineyards and the countryside, taking advantage of unique features that can enhance the imagery and represent the brand. In such settings our work takes on a more artistic flair, making use of more angular light and shadow to allow the fashion make a more compelling statement. As with studio e-commerce imagery,  post-production includes meticulous color correction to match color swatches (a more challenging task with changing outdoor lighting conditions).

Lifestyle Fashion Photography

Lifestyle fashion photography place the subject in an environment that provides context — such as a place of work, recreation, home, etc. This genre also includes “Street Photography” as well as photography in nature. We also use the studio for lifestyle shots when more control is needed. Whatever the setting, the emphasis of lifestyle shots is to go beyond e-commerce location shots to show the apparel in a setting that is less formal, provides context and tells a story, creating a protagonist that the potential client can relate to. Lifestyle shots are typically more creative, informal and can use a variety of post-production techniques to best convey the spirit and mood of the image and brand.

Editorial Fashion Photography

Editorial fashion photography can combine elements of several photographic genres and techniques to present a compelling, artistic and often iconic image that, in a compelling way, conveys the emotion and story of the brand and/or its key message. Such imagery is especially highly styled, typically involving nontraditional poses, makeup, lighting and sets. Creating the ideal editorial look requires strong collaborative planning by the creative team and the client and it is not unusual that it become an iterative process to refine and improve the concept. Some of our best results come from starting with the basic concept and innovating as the process evolves, with creative ideas coming from all members of the team, from photographer to model.
